The barrel is manufactured in a complex process to create this stunning piece of German engineering. With daily use it will develop a natural and individual patina. The chunky octagonal profile gives this pen a presence in the hand, making it a real joy to hold. This pen features the Kaweco logo in silver-coloured metal on the end of the cap. Polished stainless-steel nib, manufactured by Bock of Heidelberg. Presented in a Kaweco metal tin box. In the beginning of the industrial age pens were made of hard rubber (Ebonite). The material was just polished. Brass was already used for pens, but mainly for the ornamental elements, such as clips and decorative rings. The cartridge technology finally made the usage of other materials possible, because the ink no longer came in contact with the metal.
