Locals are looking good in flannel, Duluth Trading Co. survey suggests

It’s not often you can say that the Hub is a cynosure of couture, but a new survey finds that Boston is fashion-forward in flannel. The survey is from the Duluth Trading Co., whose marketing signage suggests that a source of its haberdashery inspiration was that famous flannel dandy Paul Bunyan of blue ox fame. A purveyor of flannel as well as rugged footwear and (hopefully not-so-rugged underwear), the Duluth Trading Co. recently compiled a list of the top 10 flannel cities in America. Boston ranked second in this survey behind Seattle-Tacoma. (For flannel purposes, Seattle and Tacoma are seemingly regarded as twin cities). Says the Duluth Trading Co. survey, the second best thing about being from Boston “is braving nor’easters and rooting for the hometown team in your best flannel.’’
