Signet marigold "Lulu" (Tagetes tenuifolia) is a long blooming annual plant that ideally fits into gardens and pots. It develops strongly branched, round tufts that may grow 25 - 35 cm tall. Blooming period starts at the beginning of summer and lasts until autumn frosts. Tiny, single flowers virtually cover the plants. Lemon inflorescences look amazing at the background of subtle, vividly green leaves. The "Lulu" variety perfectly fits onto edgings, lower borders and flower beds. Planted in pots or boxes, this pot marigold will become a magnificent decoration of a sunny windowsill or balcony. Pot marigolds are easy in cultivation and undemanding. They grow best and bloom abundantly planted on a sunny site in a fertile soil. They handle periodical water shortages well. You should sow pot marigold seeds early in spring under covers or mid-May directly onto the site where they are supposed to grow. The seed will germinate within 7 - 14 days provided that the proper humidity and temperature around 18°C is maintained.
