McGill Education alumna, Mélodie Daoust (B.Ed. Phys. Ed. 2017) will compete with the Canadian women's hockey team in the upcoming Winter Olympics in Beijing, scheduled to take place February 4 to 20, 2022. It will be her third time competing in the Olympic Games, and as the 2021 World Championship MVP, she is determined to bring her team to victory. "We want to show everyone that the gold medal belongs to Canada," said Daoust when discussing next month's games. From her first skate on her father's ice rink on the family dairy farm in Saint-Timothée, now a neighbourhood of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, to the Beijing Games, Daoust has been through her fair share of trials. She shares her story in a video and article done by Radio-Canada. (Note the Radio-Canada coverage is in French.)
